Finance, Insurance & Legal Industry for SPACE Conference

Dr. Stephan Piazza will moderate the panel "Malta's Legal Framework for the New Space Economy" during the Finance, Insurance & Legal Industry for Space Conference co-organised by Xjenza Malta & Finance Malta on 17th February, 2026 at the Esplora Planetarium Hall, Villa Bighi, Kalkara. 

The conference will bring together stakeholders from the finance, insurance, legal space to explore how space technologies and data applications are enabling new opportunities in financial services, risk management.

The programme will open with remarks by Hon. Keith Azzopardi Tanti and Finance Malta Chairman George Vella. This will be followed by sessions exploring Malta’s strategic role in space-enabled banking, the transition from the National Space Strategy to the National Space Activities Act, and funding opportunities from the European Space Agency for the fintech, insurance, and legal sectors. The event will also feature a panel discussion on Malta’s legal framework for the emerging space economy complemented by a presentation on the use of satellite imagery across the financial and insurance industries. 

The event will be followed by a networking lunch, offering participants the opportunity to engage with stakeholders and explore potential collaborations.
